MINUTES OF THE LAKE BARCROFT ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

July 14, 2004

 

The meeting of the Lake Barcroft Association (LBA) was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by LBA President David Goslin at the LBA office at 6425 Lakeview Drive, Falls Church, Virginia. Those present were LBA Directors David Goslin, George McLennan, Regina Derzon, Frank Aukofer, David Dale, Karen Wehner, Mac Canter, Pete Walker and Kevin Howe. Board members not present were Shirley Timashev, David Feld, Diane Davidson and Uri Arkin.

 

It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of June 9, 2004 as presented.

 

CALENDAR REVIEW: The calendar was reviewed.

 

David Goslin reported that the Parcel A sales office is now open and staffed on Recreation Lane.

 

WID UPDATE: Charles de Seve presented an update of WID activities.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

IMPROVEMENTS: The report of the Improvements Committee was presented in writing.

 

Acting as Committee Chair, David Goslin moved to recommend that the Board approve construction of a new gate at Beach 5 at the edge of the parking lot nearer the beach to permit full-time off-street parking. The cost would be approximately $2,000 and would be an additional capital improvement. The motion was seconded (Canter) and the motion passed unanimously.

 

George McLennan moved that the LBA Board draft a rule-making process which includes the opportunity for public comment and is consistent with the Virginia Property Owner’s Association Act. The motion was seconded (Dale) and passed unanimously. Mac Canter volunteered to draft the rule-making process language.

 

PUBLICATIONS: Frank Aukofer reported the status of the Community Handbook and expressed appreciation to Diane Davidson for her continuing work on the Environmental Policy Section of the handbook.

 

Additional committee reports were presented but no specific action was taken.

 

It was moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
