Easter Egg Hunt

This Saturday is the annual Lake Barcroft Easter Egg Hunt at 11 am at Beach 5.

Organized by the Woman's Club, this family-friendly event is a huge draw and a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday.

There will be over 3,000 eggs hidden in and around various areas of Beach 5 and children will hunt for eggs by age group, so every little bunny is sure to get some treats to fill her basket.

So bring your Easter basket and the camera down to Beach 5 this Saturday for some family fun and socializing with neighbors!

See you there.

Earth Day April 17th – It's Official!

It's official!  Earth Day will be held on Sunday, April 17th from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at Beach 5, due to the persistent weather predictions for rain and strong winds all day Saturday and the potential for afternoon thunderstorms.

All of our volunteers and presenters have graciously agreed to come Sunday when the weather is supposed to be warmer, dry, and hopefully sunny.  Please come and thank them for their extraordinary spirit of cooperation to make this a successful event.

Termites

Seeing swarming termites is NOT a sign you have termites!!

We do live in a forest and our forest landscape has termites who perform a very valuable function (chomp, chomp).  This is the season for swarming and it just means a colony is dividing.  You can see a swarm anywhere, anytime so do not jump to conclusions.

You can inspect your foundation yourself or call a pest control company to do so for you.

Earth Day

Don't miss the Lake Barcroft Earth Day celebration on April 16th at Beach 5 from 3:00pm-6:00pm

Co-sponsored by the LBA Environmental Committee and Newcomers Club, this family-friendly event will include many exciting programs, including:

  • tours of the Lake led by Kevin Howe
  • information about how to attract wildlife to your garden
  • a children's program on earthworms
  • an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt and much more

Snacks and drinks will be served also, so be sure to come out and show your support for our beautiful Lake community.

Final Rusticway Chamber Music Concert

The final Rusticway Chamber Music Concert of the season will be held at the home of Kristin Glibert and Marion Baker on Sunday, April 17, at 4:00pm.

Please consider attending this event as all proceeds will benefit the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship fund and will help send an accomplished, but financially-underprivileged child to college.

For reservations, call 703-354-7305 or email: kristingilbert@cox.net.
